Please note that this size guide is a general reference only. Any shoe specific details are listed on the individual product pages.
As shoe sizing varies between brands and even within brands, it is important that you have your child's exact foot measurement for reference rather than using the size from an existing pair.
If you have any questions or are unsure about the sizing please feel free to contact us so that we can advise you.
Shoes should be slightly longer than the foot by approximately 5-10mm. When you walk your feet naturally move towards the front, so if the shoe is too short then one or more toes will push against the end of the shoe.
When choosing the correct size, please also bear in mind that children's feet grow by approximately 5mm every 6 months, so a shoe that is only just fitting now will soon be too short if you don't allow for wriggle / growth room.
How to measure your child's feet.
1. Have your child stand barefoot and upright on a piece of paper allowing for the full spread of the foot in terms of width & length.
2. Mark the longest parts of the foot from the point of the big toe to the back of the heel (make sure you measure both feet as one foot is usually slightly bigger than the other and ensure that your child’s toes aren't scrunched up).
3. Measure between the toe and heel marks with a millimetre ruler. Use the length of the longest foot.
4. The distance between the Measured Foot Length and the Shoe Inner Length should be between 5mm to 10mm to account for growth and wiggle room (slightly more if socks are worn).
5. For example: Your childs longest foot measures 133mm. You will see from the Squeaky Shoe Size Chart below that the shoe inner length of 140mm will give an ideal 7mm wiggle room - so in this instance you would order a size 5.
We recommend that you add approximately 5mm for children under 2½ years as any more can cause them to trip. We recommend that you add approximately 10mm for children over 2½ years as any less may restrict movement in active children.
Children’s feet grow quickly so make sure you check their shoes every 2 months during their first year and every 3 months from 1 to 3 years
